You may have noticed in the SimplyBook.me admin interface that you are now asked to accept if you want notifications. You might think …. what is going on here, I won’t accept anything like this, they will just start sending me some bullshit stuff … BUT NO, this is to help you to save money on SMS reminders.
If you accept the browser notifications, the browser will notify you whenever you have a new booking or if you should be reminded by a normal SMS about upcoming appointment. It doesn’t matter if you are on the SimplyBook.me site or if you are on any other page. You will get the notification telling you about this, similar to if it was an SMS. In short, you will receive the same notifications as SimplyBook.me would normally send you as a provider if you had SMS credits available and had selected to send such notifications to providers. In fact all notifications we would normally send as SMS will be sent to your browser.
Later on we plan to offer you the same but for your clients, so reminding them of appointment in the browser, no matter what page they are on!
Remark that SMS are more reliable as you hear them even if you are not browsing, but browser notifications are great for those who do not want to spend money on SMS, text message notifications.
